Texas House Bill 1535

The Senate bill passed by the Texas Legislature in 2015 was finally enacted as a law on June 6, 2021. This House Bill further expands the terms and conditions for the Low-THC usage for medical patients.

House Bill 1535 also supports research programs for the study of using Low-THC Cannabis in medicine. Patients with certain medical conditions are allowed to consume 0.5% THC, given that they have a medical card.

Since CBD products such as oils and medications are already legalized, this bill allows the laboring and consumption of Hemp for the production of CBD-related products. Hemp farming is only legal if the THC level present in any products or hemp is below 0.3%.

What is the CBD Possession Limit in Texas?

Under the enactment of laws legalizing the use of CBD are precautions and provisions to follow. Failure to abide by these rules has its sanctions, such as paying a fine or imprisonment.

  • The legal description and geographical location of the land used for hemp productions must be stated.
